Draft #1

This week I explored light painting. It was very challenging doing light painting because there were always people in the bathroom which made it challenging to find a different space where I could do light painting that was dark enough. I really enjoyed getting to make different shapes/words. Something that was also challenging was thinking of new shapes to create. Next week I will be adding color to the light and see how that changes the mood of the images. The first photo of this series is one from last week because it inspired me to choose light painting for my project.

  1. I really like all of your photos especially the ones where the light is in a more complex shape. My only suggestion would be to maybe work some color into the light whether that be through a different color light or through editing. Great work!

  2. Great job on your first series Lauren. The main thing I learned was to try and keep the brightness down on some pictures, as it seems to take away from the main focal point of the painting. In some images the brighter parts can compliment the picture, but you will learn that through your future experiences in light painting. Also, adding different color light sources makes the image really nice. Great job.

  3. I really like the designs you created with the light, especially your first one. My only suggestion would be to add different colors of light in order to mix things up. Keep up the good work!

  4. I really like your photos, my suggestions are to add color when you are editing them unless that is not part of the visual recipe and to either to abstract or do shapes/letters.

  5. These are really cool. I love how they are such simple designs but with such complex execution. I think you can keep doing what you're doing; just keep experimenting with what you paint in the air.

  7. I really like how all of your photos seem pretty cohesive. Keep experimenting and maybe try working outside at night to get bigger landscape light paintings.
